Abstract
The impact of advertising technologies introduced in Russia in recent decades, on the transformation of the culture is considered. Special accent is made on the concepts of image and brand. It is shown that public consciousness is being drastically transformed by artificial images introduced by means of manipulation technologies in order to increase commercial sales. The author notes that the Russian ethnos is being transformed from a nation of creators into a consumer society.
