- Abstract
- Similarity and distinction in interpretation of the personality in portraits by O. Kiprensky and K. Bryullov’s are considered. While it’s mature femininity and mature masculinity, mature courage, that appeals to Bryullov in his characters for Kiprensky it’s children and youth traits that he is trying to make out even in adults. But both artists advocated the pattern of creative behavior which at the end of the XIX century poured out in Russia in an ideal of “free artist”, an artistic creative person.
