Abstract

An unknown letter by archbishop Luka (V.F. VoinoYaseneckiy) to Alexiy, the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne is published. The letter was written in July 1944 and covered the problems of religious life and religious formation of the youth. The article accompanying provides some analysis of social and cultural framework under which Russian Orthodox Church was existing and its relations with the authorities.
