- Abstract
- The Confucian view on gender roles and statuses is analyzed, as well as its alterations since the sixth century B.C. until the early twentieth century. It is demonstrated, that in Confucian China, women enjoyed status that had no precedence in the history, and they acted as keepers and propagators of Confucianism itself along with men.
