Abstract
The status of the general anthropology as a complex field of knowledge on Human being is substantiated. Some prerequisites for formation of the general anthropology as a scientific discipline are considered. The general anthropology is a field of the anthropological science investigating, on the one hand, theoretical problems of unity and variety of forms of Human being existence in the world, and, on the other hand , generic properties arising and changing during its evolution
