Abstract
Modern medicine is considered both as a science and as a social institute as well as cultural environment in which it is functioning. Dependence of medical experience on the basic cultural variables is analyzed with the primary focus on such phenomena as health, body, doctor, patient, Medical practices in Germany, France, United Kingdom, USA, Russia is scrutinized.
