Abstract
The prospects of the development of the Institute of Human studies that is a vital intellectual project are considered. It's argued that the New European humanism should be one of the key ideas underpinning the project. Its origins are analyzed and some of its important lines are identified. A special attention is paid to Marxist Humanism to which I.T. Fro-lov was a creative successor. The idea of the Human dignity observing is examined in detail which could serve as a basis for the Institute activities in the nowadays situation
