Abstract

The participants in the meeting under “Anatomy of Philosophy: Rejoinders in a dialogue” series discussed the civilization approach based on the idea of unique civilizations in the world and the opposing approach based on the principle of universalism. The principle of universalism that encourages to speak of a single human civilization. An attempt was made to identify the strengths and weaknesses of both approaches, as well as to dis cuss issues of modernization, globalization, human identity from the standpoint of uni versalism and civilizational pluralism
