U.S. - russian counterterrorism cooperation: basis for renewal

Abstract

In response to the decision on Crimea accession to Russia, and also, in general, on character of the Russian involvement into political process in Ukraine which led to a civil war in this country, the USA suspended operation of the Russian-American institutional mechanisms of cooperation. However, in view of high activity rate of the terrorist organizations in the modern world, a fight against terrorism remains in the bilateral agenda. There is an attempt in this article to track whether the common security threats can become a real basis for renewal of a full anti-terrorist cooperation between Moscow and Washington.
