Abstract

Some issues of type specimen of Homo sapiens are considered, including unfitness of designation of the remains of American paleontologist E. Cope as a lectotype for Homo sapiens by L. Psihoyos to the rules of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, reconstruction of Homo sapiens type series base on its original description and valid lectotype designation.
