Abstract
The machinery of “alternation of generations” in Soviet philosophy in late 20’s — mid30’s is illustrated by personal and scientific destiny of academician A.M. Deborin. Plenty quotations from M.B. Mitin minutiae of Stalin’s speech at the meeting with “The Red Professorate Institue” party cell bureau are presented. A special attention is paid to the label “menshevikizing idealism” that was invented by Stalin to defame elder generation marxist philosophers and to its employment by “philosophical youth” that eventually appeared at the helm of Soviet philosophy.
